Research in The Keys
From Key Largo to Key West, i have been to the Keys quite a bit over the years. Visually there are endless subject matter that strike my interest for painting. It could be about color, the weathered textures, sea life, seascapes, the interesting people, and scenery.
The atmosphere in the Keys is laid back and comfortable, but the summer heat can be stifling. I personally like to go when it's not tourism season but do occasionally make it to the Lobster season in the middle of the summer, one of the most popular times for tourists. Diving for those tasty shell fish is wonderful fun and a great way to see corral, tropical and game fish of all kinds. Rays and sharks are common. Fishing in the Keys is awesome!
Another reason that Key West is very special to me is because my daughter Ambre was married on the beach here.
Famous for it's food and bars, Key West will not disappoint in these areas. It has that flavor of the Islands but the amenities of the states.
